I believe that the best possible outcome would have been to use her organs for the benefit of others because she never had a life and I believe good should come out of tragedy, so because Theresa never got a chance at life, other children should. I think it was ethical for her parents to decide to let her die sooner than she might have on a ventilator because, as Dr. Brian Undell said "all they were doing was prolonging the baby's death", she had already died, as Dr. Undell said "the real cause [of her death] was the affliction she came into the world with at birth, anencephaly.", she was never going to have a life, so I believe others should get that chance. Her parents were also justified in choosing to donate her organs for her because I think one should look for the best outcome and maximize benefits, an ethical consideration I find very important. This decision also applies the principal of justice as it gives children who need transplants what they need and allows Theresa's parents to have their wishes granted. I believe it is ethical to decide to have organs donated on behalf of those who cannot because I believe that, as long as the individual has never expressed a view contrary, I believe that people want to help others and that if someone's organs are no longer benefiting them, they should go to benefit another.
